About Me

IMG_0492About Me
My name is Sharon Van Fleet and I currently reside in California.  My goal is with this blog is to record my thoughts, opinions, and general life experiences.  My hope is to encourage myself to try out new things every day to ultimately give myself something to write about.  Many thanks to all of my visitors and readers your feedback means the world to me.  Please check back often and feel free to get in touch with me. I am always looking for ideas to write about. So if you want to talk about that or anything in general just shoot me me a message.

Citadel of Thoughts
When I first started blogging I just wanted to see what it’s like and fell in love with the idea of having a ‘digital diary’.  Then my thoughts started to funnel more towards topic about my views on life and my experiences.  For a while there the name of my blog was “Live a Life Worth Remembering” it’s a nice line however I always felt like it was too long.  One day I was listening to one of my favorite singers Anna Nalick specifically to her album ‘Wreck of the Day’ when the song Citadel came on.  The first few lines spoke so loud to me and it was so relevant to my situation, I was just like that’s it! That is the name of my blog!

Slogan Explained
“Life is about experiences.”  It’s simple.  That was what I was going for when I chose it as Citadel of Thoughts’ slogan.  Anyone can be alive but are you really living?  As in, are you making the most of your time here on Earth?  Are you living the kind of life with events you can honestly call “experiences”.  See, experience is more than just having a memory of something you’ve done – it’s about feeling and knowing that you were affected by the circumstance.  Hopefully you are living the kind of life that is positively affecting other people.  That is my hope for myself.

Writing is the refuge of thought, ideas and influence. Keep it up, Sharon, even when you are confronted with writer’s block. 🙂
