Zorah, female barbarian @ level 1

My husband and I like to play Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.  I think this game has been out since 2013 but we are just now getting into it.  It is something that we make time to do together. 🙂  I even have a character dedicated to when I just play with him.

Zorah, female barbarian @ lvl 30

The pictures I’ve featuring in this post is my character I named “Zorah” who is a female Barbarian.  She is level 30 now while the female Monk that I play with my husband her name is “Guérisseur” which means healer in French.  Guérisseur is level 52 now.  The Barbarian and Monk characters are very alike in a sense that they both like to get into enemy’s faces and fight them head on. Unlike the wizard or witch doctor where they rely on spells to take down enemy but aren’t required to be physically involved in fighting the enemy.  My husband’s Male Witch Doctor’s name is “Raziel”.

After playing with Zorah I realized how much better it is to play with other people.  The battles are much faster when you don’t have to tackle it alone.  With that being said if you play Diablo III on PS4 feel free to add me my gamertag is ShawieKill.

Redbox – Affordable Movie Night Solution!

I love Redbox almost as much as I love Netflix. =)  Now through Father’s Day they are offered $0.50 off your second rental.  I used to rent games from Redbox too but for some reason here in the Monterey area they do not offer any PS4 or Xbox One games.  So I rent Blu-rays exclusively now.  The latest rentals that I got are: The Duff and Project Almanac.

I love how you are able to browse through kiosks from the comfort of your computer or phone and reserve the movies you are interested in and pick them up at your convenience. If you don’t mind receiving promotions via text you can sign up via their website and periodically you will receive promotional codes.  Sometimes we get too busy so I like to post my code on Facebook just in case one of my family or friends would like to use it.  Sometimes it’s a free movie rental and sometimes it’s 50% off it varies from promotion to promotion.

Do you use Redbox? What do you think of it?

Sam Smith – Singer/Songwriter

GA7SS30

I love Sam Smith’s album “In The Lonely Hour.” It’s been a long time since I’ve found a music EP that I can listen to from start to finish and not feel like I have to skip any tracks. After listening to this album I realized that this guy has quite a few hits on the radio. Which must be a lot because I barely listen to the radio and I hear him almost every time I do.

I decided to look him up on Spotify after deciding that I need to listen to the track “I’m Not The Only One” because I simply could not get it out of my head. I found the album and decided to just play the whole thing and I just fell in love. I listen to it at least once from start to finish at least twice every two weeks while running errands or just cleaning the apartment. His track “I’m Not The Only One” is my favorite song by him. It’s so catchy and easy to sing along to. I will hook you guys up and embed the song via YouTube here for your enjoyment.

I want to take this opportunity talk about Sam Smith and John Legend’s rendition of the track “Lay Me Down”. I think this song is absolutely beautiful and sad. They re-released this song for the benefit of Red Nose Day and all the proceeds went to the charity which helps children and young people who are living in poverty.

I was pretty blown away that this guy is only 23 years old. (He was born in 1992!) I think I will forever consider those who were born close to 2000 as young. He was born in London, England. With that being said yes he has that awesome British accent. Check out this interview with Sam Smith talking about his album.

I like how they briefly talk about vision boards which touches the concept of The Secret. If you’re not familiar with that… well, I will cover that in another blog post because it deserves it. It’s a book and a documentary, I highly recommend both so check it out when you can!

So anyway, what do you think of Sam Smith and his music?

Poll: What was your favorite 2000s TV Show?

Last month I put a poll asking “What was your favorite 2000s TV Show?”  Although I love Grey’s Anatomy I would have to say I love Charmed even more.  According to the poll I’m not the only one.

Charmed is a supernatural-type show that feature three sisters who are witches.  Known as the most powerful witches of all time.

I loved the show and I still watch it on Netflix from time to time.  I was impressed how they changed up the story and brought in a new actress after Shannen Doherty left who played the oldest sister named Prue.  I must admit re-watching the show some of the oldest episodes from seasons 1, 2, and 3 was really corny I loved Prue Halliwell’s character but I can tell the show got significantly better with the later seasons.

Do you like Charmed? Who was your favorite character? Do you still watch the re-runs?  Let me know by commenting below!

Floyd Mayweather VS Manny Pacquiao

20150503-REM_7103-300x200Whether you follow boxing or not, chances are you have heard about these famous boxers.  The anticipated fight is FINALLY happening.  After years of negotiating the fight is finally happening. To catch the fight you have to do one of the follow:

  • Pay HBO $90 for standard viewing or $100 for HD
  • Team up with some friends/family and split the bill
  • Go to a restaurant/bar that is playing it and pay a cover charge $10-$35
Apparently they are trying everything they can to prevent people from illegally streaming the fight.  The businesses that do decide to pay to view the fight are apparently being charged around $5000.  It’s crazy!  Whoever wins or loses will walk away regardless millions of dollars but what is at stake: pride/bragging rights.

Me, personally I want Pacquiao to win because he represents those of us that prefer to be humble and grateful for what we have.  There are too many cocky and “entitled” minded people out there in the real world.  Yes, it’s all about the skills in the ring not so much outside of the ring but they are both GREAT fighters and I believe it’s going to be an awesome fight.  Mayweather has crazy good defensive skills which will be to his advantage.  I hope Pacquiao doesn’t act too hastily and use his speed and accuracy to his advantage to get Mayweather out of his comfort zone.

The fight will be held in Las Vegas and it will start at local time 8PM.  Will you be tuning in?

Here is a clip presented to you by HBO – I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did! 😉

New Osio Cinemas – Small town movie theater-like experience

My husband and I went to a small movie theater called “New Osio Cinemas.”  It was a great experience.  Older audience surrounded us, however, I think I like that better than sharing a theater with noisy teenagers or children!

The movie we saw was Danny Collins.  It was a very enjoyable film.  I recommend it if you’re looking for a feel-good type movie.  It stars Al Pacino and I would definitely consider it more of a comedy/drama.  He plays a musician named Danny Collins who end up turning his life around from being a destructive rockstar and hoping for a more meaningful lifestyle after reading a letter he received from legendary John Lennon.

I really enjoyed our experience this evening.  The movie theatre seems to only have 5 screens.  It was small and intimate feeling.  I look forward to having more movie outings like this in the future.  For only $6.50 per ticket, I thought it was worth it.
